The Beginning

Hello from Aurora, OH! We've unpacked every box but are still in the process of hanging things on the walls. Our apartment is beginning to feel more and more like home. The fall has been absolutely beautiful in Ohio. We've never seen color like this before. :) Luke and I get out as much as we can to either play a game of tennis or ride our bikes. We better enjoy this as much as possible 'cause we heard it suppose to snow soon...

Luke is becoming more acquainted with his job and is enjoying it more and more. He has some incredible opportunities for outreach. Right now his jobs consist of creating/overseeing a website for PSM (Pro Soccer Ministries), being the "player liaison" for the soccer missionaries overseas, and developing two outreach programs, one through churches around the city and the other with the inner-city kids of Cleveland. These two outreach programs are in association with the pro team the City Stars. Even though these outreach opportunities are in the beginning stages, they are none the less promising and very exciting. On the side, Luke is the assistant coach of a U-12 girls team. He is loving this as well.

I am primarily working part time as a nanny for a family with 4 kids. They are a great family and I am very blessed to be able to hang out with the kids. Including being the "adult" around the house, my jobs includes literally driving them around everywhere from piano lessons, to Burger King, to football practice. I am also job searching right now, which, anyone can attest to, can sometimes be monotonous and discouraging. However, through this and many other things, God has really been teaching Luke and I to become more dependent upon Him for our jobs and life. It seems like learning dependence upon Christ has been the theme for Luke and I thus far. And one thing that has been so encouraging for us to learn and remember is that "He [will] work in us what is pleasing to Him" - Heb 13:21. What a relief to know that not only does God give us the passion to please Him, but He gives us the tools to do so as well. He Himself will bring about what He wants from us - what an amazing God we serve.

We are getting more "plugged in" to the community here. We are so thankful for the people here working for AIS. We are blessed to see and be a part of the passion everyone has to reach others for the Kingdom. The relationships we have already formed have richly blessed us, and we are so excited to get to know them more as time goes on. Thanks for your prayers and support. God Bless!
